Always enjoy your columns, glad to hear a music lover got a good sound system. Doesn't matter what your tastes are,a good system makes music so much more than what you'd experience if you only listen to mp3s on earbuds and car and office radios.

For sure man, (and thanks).
I've always used second hand stuff that has been given to me, plus portable stereos etc. Even in my car, I've never had anything beyond a stock system. I'm not too much of an audiophile, I'm more into music itself, but the guy sold me this $45 cord that apparently makes you CDs digital, which, according to him (and I'm taking his word for it) if you haven't been using one of these cords, you've never actually heard the music digitally, because CD players have to be converted to analog when going to the speakers. Anyways, if I listen to something I've heard a million times, it's crazy how clear it is and how much separation you get between the instruments. You have to get used to it though, the regular wires make it sound "normal" so I guess it's personal preference. Still neat anyways.

Interesting stat. 100% of all blocked shots don't go into the net!

Hughes is being manhandled in the NHL right now. Tones of talent and speed and is going to be really good but not right now.

I think I blasted through all 19 'sodes in six days. It's been a weird week, I decided to quit drinking, all kinds of smoking, and to make sure I get 45 minutes of exercise per day.

We are on day 12 of the exercise and day eight of everything else. It's going pretty well, all things considered. I'm now addicted to nicotine lozenges, but that's better than the alternative.

Sorry James, but if we have learned anything from advanced stats, it tells us the numbers above are simply not sustainable.

Neither of those things is true. A lot of blocked shots deflect weirdly and put the whole team out of position. The Hughes thing isn't true at all, at least, I watched three Devils games so far and I didn't notice that.

You'll never get rid of shot blocking. Yes, the risk sometimes out weighs the reward but for some players it's instinctive, it is what it is.

And who gives a crap about going to visit the President with the cup. They're not there to endorse him as a President. Most of these guys are only there for a laugh anyway. Probably just making fun of him when he's not looking. Sometimes as a team you gotta go to places you don't really care for.

Maybe in your fantasy land. Shots that are blocked do not score. That is what I stated, nothing to do with what happens afterwords. The Hughes thing is definitely true. He's being pushed around out there.

By the way, good luck with quitting drinking and smoking if that's what you need to do. I support you 100% in that.

I mean he is adjusting to the physicality of the league but was fantastic the past few games and with some more luck would have 3-4 points. Who Hughes is playing with is really a non issue though.

big agreement on pitchfork. The last few years they've been pumping up pop albums and getting away from the indie scene. Really too bad. I used to go to the pitchfork festival each year and it's been junk the past few years.

Yeah I'm not sure how anyone who likes music enough to run a website about it can sit there and tell me that Ariena Grande made one of the top 200 records of the decade, but Tool did not.

I get that they want to get away from the boomer idea that guitar music is inherently more artistic and important than pop music, but it's a huge overcompensation. The thing is though, I'm not some guitar-only music fan, I actually own about half the records on their list, and I buy lots of stuff like Robyn, Lady Gaga, Lana del Rey etc. I just don't think that stuff compares to things like Arcade Fire or Tool, and for the rest of my life, my tastes have usually been mirrored by critics, so it's a bit weird.

PLUS: The Breaking Bad movie. A surprise epilogue to your favorite show is like a very nice present. Surprisingly, I didn't think there was any drop off in quality. Ten stars.

It was great to see Todd again. That ginger psycho is an outstanding villain. The guy who plays him is an outstanding actor.

He really hasnt. He was bad the first 2 games, but ever since those 2 hes been adjusting to the league and gaining confidence, he's actually been playing well and creating chances, just hasn't had the puck luck yet. He could have 3-4 points if not for a few posts and goalies making some nice saves(like Hart on Hall)

Gotta say, if the best you can do is complain about an extra "a" that barely qualifies as a typo, then I'm kicking your ass!!!
